Dingle, Idaho, is a small unincorporated community in Bear Lake County. It sits in the southeastern part of the state, and its name comes from the soft sound a cowbell makes as a cow grazes. The first permanent Dingle settlement was established in 1871 by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, William L. Lee and Thomas Rich. You can take a 90-minute tour through nine different rooms and view various stalactites, stalagmites, and banded travertine. You will take about 400 steps down into the cave and 400 steps back up.
